Orlagh O’Farrell is from south County Dublin.

Her poems have been published in the Cork Literary Review, Cork Literary Review Special Edition, Crannóg, Longford Virtual Writer, Words On the Wave, and ROPES 2019.

She was shortlisted in the Cork Literary Competition, Clogh Writers Competition, South Tipperary Writers Competition,  Words on the Wave Competition, and was runner up in the Annie Deeny competition.

She obtained second prize in Strokestown International Poetry Competition 2008. She was longlisted for the UK National Poetry Competition 2013 and the Fish Poetry Prize 2016.

She is studying for an M.Phil in Writing at the University of South Wales, Cardiff, (2014), where she has been under the direction of the poet Philip Gross. She is working towards her first collection.

She is a founding member of Airfield Writers group in Dundrum, Dublin which meets weekly.

She is a Member of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission.
